Notice is hereby given:  Ann Arbor Charter Township Board of Trustees will hold a PUBLIC HEARING at 7:30 pm on Monday May 20, 2013 at the Ann Arbor Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 in accordance with the requirements of Public Act 246 of the Public Acts of 1931 as amended on the question of the annual special assessment district for the purpose of defraying the expenses of lighting the streets within Fleming Creek Subdivisions 1 and 2. 

Appearance and protest at the hearing in the special assessment proceeding is required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the state tax tribunal.  An owner, party in the interest, or owner’s agent may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment, or may file their protest by letter.  Written comments must be received by 4:30 pm on May 20, 2013 at the Ann Arbor Township Hall. 

The proposed 2013 assessments are: $25.40 for each lot in Phase 1 (Lots 1-76) of Fleming Creek, and $23.79 for each lot in Phase 2 (Lots 77-198) of Fleming Creek.

Planning Commission

Public Hearing Notice: The Planning Commission held a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Ann Arbor Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor to hear public comment on proposed zoning ordinance amendments and additions pertaining to Agricultural Commercial Kitchens and Agricultural Education. 

The proposed amendments are posted here and are also available for review or purchase at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

Notice: Planning Commission Member Needed

Jim Snyder, a PC member for 27 years, is retiring and the Township is looking for a replacement.  The PC meets at 7:30 pm on the first Monday of each month to consider planning proposals and/or zoning ordinance issues.  A packet of information for the agenda is delivered on the Friday before those meetings.  Thorough review of the packet takes several hours.  The meetings are generally concluded by 9:30 pm, but occasionally extend to 10:30 pm.  An applicant with planning/design/engineering or legal background is preferred, but all are welcome to apply. Public Notices

The Ann Arbor Charter Township Board of Trustees met on January 21, 2013 and approved amendments to the Zoning Ordinance in Chapter 74, Article VI, Sections 74-641 through 74-647, Wireless Communications Facilities. The amendments incorporate changes required by recent changes to the State’s Zoning Enabling Act, requiring municipalities to adhere to specific statutory procedures for review/approval of wireless communications equipment construction and co-location.  The amendments, known as Ord 1-2013 are effective February 11, 2013.  Hard copies are available for review or purchase at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI  48105, M-F, 8 am – 4:30 pm.
