SPECIAL BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
MONDAY OCTOBER 22, 2001


The special board of trustees meeting for further discussion by DF Land Development for Conditional Use Permit and Wetland and Natural Features Permits for the construction of the Ave Maria International Golf Club was called to order by Supervisor Langford at 7:30 p.m.

Present: Supervisor Elizabeth Langford, Clerk Catherine Braun, Treasurer Virginia Forshee, Trustees John Allison and Michael Moran. Also Attorney Sandra Sorini.

Citizen Participation: K. Srinivasan spoke about his concerns over the proposed Ave Maria Golf Course by reading a summary presented to the Board of Trustees on Monday, October 22, 2001.

Trustee Della DiPietro entered the meeting at 7:35 p.m.

DF Development for Conditional Use Permit/Ave Maria Golf Course: Hank Byma introduced the following individuals who were in attendance to address issues related to the studies they conducted that have been compiled as a part of the comprehensive submittal packet. Pat Barresi, CPG-Senior Project Consultant, Soils and Materials Engineers, Inc., Gary W. Crawford, Certified Aquatic Biologist , Doug Denison, Water Resources Scientist and Vice President, Smith Group JJR, Woody L. Held, Principal, Kin & MacGregor Environmental, Inc., Dr. Michael Kasenow, PH.D., Certified Ground Water Professional (CGWP), Certified Professional Geologist (CPG), Associate Professor of Hydrogeology, Department of Geography and Geology Eastern Michigan University, Craig Savage, CPG Senior Hydrogeologist, Geo Trans, Inc., Donald R. Schrotenboer, CCM - Chief Operating Officer, Ave Maria International Golf Club, Julie Stackecki, MS, President Site Specific, Inc., Faculty Member, Department of Horticulture, Michigan State University, L. Nicholas Treinen, Attorney, Eric J. Tripi P.E. Senior Associate, Parson Transportation Group.

Trustee Richard Dieterle entered the meeting at 7:42 p.m.

David Hyndman, PhD in Hydrology and Associate Professor at Michigan State University, Dr. Christopher Grobbel, Environmental Ecology Consultant and teach of Land Use and Environmental Law at Michigan State University and a principal in Ball Environmental Associates and Tom Stevens, Attorney with Olson & Bzdok were in attendance on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Srinivasan.

Extended presentations by the petitioner and representatives of K. Srinivasan were made in response to many questions from the Board related to aquifer, well, irrigation and wetland issues, use of the private easement, Audubon Signature Program requirements, the Planning Commission recommended conditions, Traffic & Parking Issues, Course Layout issues, Well and Septic issues, Natural Features Protection including Turf Management Plan (Fertilization) and Threatened and Endangered Species Issues.

Hank Byma, on behalf of the petitioner, confirmed that the petitioner agreed to all of the conditions of the September 17, 2001 Planning Commission Resolution.

After discussion Moran moved to table, DiPietro supported and motion carried.

Forshee moved to adjourn, Dieterle supported and motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 11:43 p.m.
